Sophie Lowndes-Toole

Business Development Manager

Sophie joined OSBF in September 2026, as a Business Development Manager based in the South-East of England, bringing a strong background in banking, lending, and client relationship management.

Sophie started her financial career at Barclays working in the branches initially as a cashier, and then progressing into a wide variety of roles across the branch network. Leaving retail banking allowed her to further her learning and development by becoming a buy to let and commercial mortgage broker in 2016, working with a wide range of clients, providing them with both short term and long-term finance. A move to London resulted in her progressing into residential mortgages, however a COVID-caused redundancy meant she started her own business, as a mortgage and protection broker for just over 6 years.

As Sophie has work both alongside with businesses, and owned a small business, she is particularly excited about being able to offer them guidance and assistance, especially when they are finding themselves in a bind and unable to get help elsewhere. Sophie has always found joy in being able to help solve problems others can’t, and getting results when people think it’s impossible!

Sophie was born in the Midlands, but has lived in East Anglia on and off for 16 years now. She has a 1-year-old very energetic fox red labrador that requires a lot of exercise even when she wants to lie down! Sophie tends to sign herself up to mad challenges for charity, including trekking the Great wall of China, and abseiling off the helipad on the roof of the Royal London Hospital – she is probably due another one soon! She also booked a one-way ticket to Spain alone and hiked the Camino Frances in aid of her own sanity. Sophie was the co-chair of the LGBT+ network at Foxtons in London and helped to organise their first march in the London Pride parade. My absolute passion is singing, but I get stage fright.
